3 Allegedly Killed as Auchi Poly Students Riot Over ‘No Fees No Exams’ Policy

New reports have just confirmed that the students of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State are rioting over management’s policy that no student will be allowed to take the semester examinations until they have paid their school fees.

According to Auchi Poly Blog, three yet-to-be-identified students have been shot dead by the security agency -Fazal, employed by the school. The blog, which cites eye witness reports, said that a Department of Mass Communications student, Susan Ojie, confirmed the news of shooting and deaths, while another witness from the Department of Business Administration said that the Campus 2 was set on fire.

It is unclear if the state security agents have taken over the situation, but social media users add that the riot was still going on as at press time.
