In what appears to be a continuation of the season of fallouts between artistes and their management, yesterday, the Lagos state police command stormed the Muson Centre, Onikan, to arrest Oritsefemi’s former manager, Danku (real name Yusuf Adepitan).
According to the NET, the arrest took place on the red carpet of the comedy concert Pencil Unbroken which held yesterday night at the Muson centre and Oritsefemi has been named as the person behind the arrest.
The arrest is by all accounts linked to his beef with Danku which started last year. “It was like a Hollywood movie, they just stormed the red carpet and whisked him away” said an eyewitness.
The relationship between the Double Wahala crooner and his ex-manager turned sour in 2014 after Oritsefemi accused Danku of stealing money from him and also claiming ownership of his MSN record label. In January, the 31-year-old singer threatened to arrest Danku and his mother for conspiring against him and making threats to his life, but this never happened.
In April, the duo got into another messy fight after Oritsefemi called Danku out for using the MSN logo for his artiste, Rayce.
Now, the reggae-dancehall singer appears to have taken legal action with Danku’s arrest for theft, conspiracy and impersonation.
Last month alone, singer Runtown was embroiled in a lawsuit with his label who he accused of making threats to his life and former EME artiste Skales was also arrested for allegedly defrauding his record label of N13 million.
Danku is said to have since been taken to Zone 2, Police command in Onikan, Lagos.
